got some stuff from an old blog I had...nostalgia trip!

just watched Red Dragon and was really tired after. The movie was excellent! (hey I sounded like someone else all of a sudden) I think a lot of people disagree with me when I say Hannibal was better than silence of the lambs...i guess there's something about Rome, Italy that seduces me. But anyway, back to Red Dragon. THis movie had the same intensity as Hannibal for me. Not many artistic shots but the acting brought me in. You feel like you're part of the movie but obviously you're just enjoying your popcorn and Coke light. Another major contribution to the experience was everyone in that theater in Rockwell last Sunday at 10:10pm. I think we pretty much had the same reactions, the same emotions which enhanced everything. Aaah it is always nice to watch a movie with an empathetic crowd.
gawd my birthday is coming up. I'm kinda feeling lonely because I might not throw a party this year. No moolah. And no strength to plan. I'm just ordering KFC and Shakey's to the house for a nice dinner with family. I wonder if my friends could read my mind and surprise me by showing up...wouldn't that be something...hehe
arrg it's early in the morning and have to get up at 7am for 8am class. And still haven't done my Mgt. Accounting homework! argggg is right....

I'm really curious to watch Lilo & Stitch...
I think Men In Black II is going to suck...
aside from Matrix II and Daredevil - what other movie is there to look forward to?
I just read somewhere that they are making a movie to pit Batman and Superman against each other. Don't these studio execs realize that comic superheroes - especially those that have already been used over and over again (and bombed over and over again) - are just not going to work anymore without a good story and good actors? Even if you put TWO superheroes together, it will not work if they are sickening to the audience already. Get it? These guys are OOOOOoooold news! Everyone just wants to jump in the Spiderman bandwagon. That was a good one-hit wonder k? stop it already. If they've been to the Philippines, these guys would realize that the "pandesal syndrome" is proof that a good thing can go bad if you saturate the market.
On another note...Minority Report was very impressive - which is saying a lot since i despise Tom Cruise and his incessant vanity. I mean, does this man have a clause in his contract saying that in every movie he stars in, his face has to take up 90% of the movie poster? or magazine? Show me a magazine cover or movie poster of his that does not show ONLY him...
But hey, the movie was really good. Spielberg ripped off Kubrick in so many shots. (Anyone who has watched - or slept - through 2001 Space Oddyssey will see the exact same shots, costumes, settings etc.)
Speaking of surprisingly good movies - Life or something like it has made me like Angelina Jolie. I did not believe in her as an actress because she only played the roles that mirror her real life persona (or her manager's marketing image strategy). But this movie showed Jolie to have something that most actors in the business don't have - Comic Timing. It had very simple lines, simple shots...but her delivery put it all together perfectly. Thanks dear, for showing me the light...now if you can only explain the Billy Bob attraction...

I watched Kiki's delivery service last Friday and I can't stop thinking about it! my friend Marc remembers watching it as a child and I must recommend it to everyone. I am not a huge fan of anime as the rest of the male population is at present, but this is definitely easy to watch. So i will repeat this over and over again...i recommend that anyone watch Kiki's delivery service to realize that growing up is a part of life...gosh, it took an animated cartoon to tell me that? heehee
have one week left...still can't finish my Christmas shopping. Who's left? my dad, mom and joey. Have to finish giving the bosses' gifts by tomorrow. Oh well. Have to do the darn company presentation as well. At least that's all I have to think of for tomorrow since I finished my report today. OOooooh I need my sleep now...i'm blabbering nonsense again...gudnighty.

got it! woohoo! i must be rusty, that's all. I'm currently reveling in the song by Santana and Michelle Branch. I'm sure everyone's hooked on the lyrics and all that but I'm actually more amazed at Santana - the man is a god! I can remember listening to his talented guitar playing since I was in high school! hey waitaminute, I'm not that old so that wasn't too far away hehe.
someone told me that Jamiroquai was coming here...haven't heard anything since the red hot chili pepper concert got cancelled (?)...I like their Zephyr song :-9 Anyway back to Jay Kay and the rest of the talented brits of Jamiroquai - for all those who don't know that is the name of an Indian tribe which explains the headress so aptly worn by JayKay. oooh hope some news of their coming here comes soon. I need to start saving for those tickets...unless someone wants to treat me >ehem< wink wink :-)
