Thanks to Ramon's kwento, I got to go to this really great bookstore called Libris. He mentioned that they carried some really great books and at good prices. They even have an offer that if you find the same book cheaper somewhere else, they will refund the balance. Ain't that cool? Now that's customer service! needless to say, you won't find the same special treatment in Powerbooks or Bibliarch/Pageone. I had to go see for myself though. You will find Libris along President's Avenue between Tahanan Village Gate and the entrance to BF homes. It's right beside Chatterbox Pizza on your left side if you came from Sucat Road. Anyway true to it's word, the owner guarantees that it will refund the price difference. Aside from that, they have free coffee, a website http://www.libris.com.ph where you can sign up for their database and order books online...and let's not forget reasonable prices for quality hardbound books. I found great books on hobbies, cookbooks, film, (ooh i really want that biography of Frank Sinatra), philosophy and even more impressive were the updated books on business and finance. Be sure to check them out! :)

I just came from Lia's surprise birthday party :-) it was so sweet! We went to quark's house and i just saw his room...wow! if that were my room, i'd never leave! And the food was great! i had to control myself (this dieting sucks!) but got enough lasagna to tide me over. yum-mee! then the next few hours were filled with the lung cancer group talking about asses (among other things) over a few beers. To top it off, there was some porn viewing in quark's room! hilarious! we just kept scrutinizing it and admiring the production quality! I also got to see an old friend from High School - Clar! oh she's such a dear! was always a riot to be with and she's super sweet! I still have our pictures from those days. Was really nice seeing her again. I'm so glad Lia liked our gift for her. I received so many of those eye gel thingies i kept wondering if my friends were hinting to me about my raccoon eyes already! but i luuved them anyway! helps when you cried the night before or just stayed up late. My sister is lucky, she can stay up for hours and hours and you will not EVER see her with dark circles. Why didn't i get that gene? Anyways, this was a pretty productive day. I got my last paycheck from ePLDT - complete with rice subsidy, vacation leave, sick leave and all the other items that added to that check amount they gave me. Hallelujah! I now realize why God had me work for them, they paid me well! Thank you Manny Pangilinan! haha

I woke up this morning all giddy and excited for two reasons. first, my classes were still at two pm and second, I was all ready to go buy tickets at Rockwell for Two Towers. I called last night and the guy on the other end said I could go buy tickets tomorrow. Of course, he failed to inform me that reservations have already started since last Sunday! I knew I could have even gotten them through the phone through my Rockwell Club membership but I thought it would be best to use my own judgment in choosing the seats. So anyway back to my trip to the theaters this morning, There was already a line as soon as the mall had opened so I was about 4th. I kind of felt bad for the guy in front of me who was taking a long time to decide. Apparently he was told by his boss to buy a couple of tickets in the middle of the theater. But if you see every screening from Saturday onwards it’s like a hole just sucked out every seat spread out from the center. It’s a good thing everyone going with me and joey are in pairs so I got two seats on either side of the two aisles in row E. I do remember that the best seats in Rockwell theaters are in row E and F heehee.
Going around Rockwell I remembered the New Year Party. It was actually a lot of fun - surprisingly! I haven’t been to a good party in the longest time! It’s been kind of harder to find good exciting fun since reforming last Jan.1, 2000 (good friends of mine will know what I’m talking about J ) I also think that age has caught up with me so I don’t stay out as late as I used to. But last New Year’s was really great! Thank you studio 23 for the free drinks and food! I think it was a great idea and so far the best party I’ve seen you organize! Naming it the sunlounge pretty much sums it up…on the helipad of Rizal apartment bldg in Rockwell from 3am till the sun comes up at 7am. Buti na lang Joey and I bumped into Mich, Quark, Hannah, Goldie and their other friends who told us about the party (just as we were cringing at the sight and upon hearing the lousy music in the Studio 23 parking lot party with one-peso beer). I liked how they made sure there wouldn’t be a mob scene by using the vans to transport us from the parking lot to Rizal, this is also probably because only members are allowed to use that particular road. I got to see so many old friends like Robert and Boo who I haven’t seen since college or my Intel-working days. The only low point in the evening was when my bladder betrayed me and we had to go all the way down to the ground floor and line up. I think it was the second time I had to go down that I was “suffering” the most…thank God for this super duper nice guy in line at the men’s room who let me cut in – hallelujah! I would have passed out on the floor if he didn’t do that! I must have looked so pitiful. At around 7:30am we decided to go home – I was just so tired. Just as we were thinking about the long walk back to the parking lot the vans showed up apparently still available to bring everyone back to their cars – now that is good service and consideration from Studio23 organizers! I saw an old friend from Wishcraft – I wonder if they organized the event. Well, if they did, a whole lotta thanks to you guys for a job well done J It made the start of the year great!
Oh before i forget - thanks Hannah for being such a sweetie! even amidst the booze and hullabaloo during the new year party i do recall you went and got me tissue when my feet got wet - awwww hughughug :)
